Heifer Stations' history spans back to its days as one of the Orange areas biggest cattle stations. The fertile soil is perfect for producing quality feed and to this day beef cattle still graze amongst the vineyard and headland in the winter and adjacent paddocks through the harvest months.

The station is also home to our small herd of alpacas – headed by the friendly ‘Snowy’. The station is home to an ever increasing herd of highland cattle -With their fluffy coats and long horns they are ideally suited to the cool climate of Orange. Children and big kids can get up close and personal with the farm animals in the ‘Funny Farm’ adjacent to the tasting room. Tiny kids can feed our funky chooks (Bantams and Polish Hens) or Tom and Jaz the resident goats. Perhaps the most famous of all our farm animals is Tilly the mini Shetland – some wineries have wine dogs -we have a wine pony. Tilly would have to be the most photographed pony in Australia. 

The funny farm is open every day and is complimentary for customers of the cellar door. If you don't drink wine we have a range of local beers, cyders and soft drinks.
