FAQ's
Q.) Do I need to book?
A.) To avoid disappointment a booking is required. The Inside spaces are limited in size and capacity and are primarily reserved for wine tasting guests with bookings. Our outside areas (weather permitting) are suitable for families and casual drinks and can also be booked online.
We will always try and accommodate you if you arrive without a booking, however staffing levels are set based on bookings and we may not be able to assist you even if there appears to be space available.
Q.) Can I come for a look or walk in for tasting?
A.) We will always do our best to try and accommodate you if you don't have a booking, however we are staffed and catered according to booking numbers. This means we may not have enough personnel on to accommodate you, even if there appears to be free tables.
We do not allow 'walk arounds' or 'just looking' without a reservation for a tasting or drinks. Heifer Station is not a public facility and as such the grounds and petting zoo are provided free for paying guests only.
Q.) I'm only interested in the petting zoo - Can I still come?
The grounds and petting zoo at Heifer Station have been created for the enjoyment of our Cellar Door customers to enhance the overall wine experience.
Those wanting to visit the Heifer Station farm will need to book online for a wine tasting or a table where they can enjoy a bottle of wine and a cheese board.
Q.) Can I bring my own food/picnic?
A.) No, we do not permit guests to BYO food, except small snacks for babies and toddlers.
*Please note* We do not allow Esky's, cooler bags, picnic bags or hampers.
We offer a substantial matching cheese plate to go along with your wine tasting or a kids platter for children (fruit, toasty, marshmallows, popcorn etc.) There is also a range of non alcoholic drinks available.

Q.) Where can we buy your wine?
A.) Heifer Station Wines is a very small boutique wine business with most of our wine available only at the cellar door, online via our website or via our wine club. We don’t have a distributor and as such we deal directly with various independent venues and wine outlets around the country. For further information on stockists or to become a stockist please email james@heiferstation.com
Q.) Do you charge for a tasting?
A.) Yes. To try our range of single vineyard wines we have a charge of $15 per person. The fee is not refundable.
Q.) Can I still drive after doing a wine tasting?
A.) A standard tasting size is 30ml -If you try all of our wines and don't use a spittoon you would have consumed close enough to 270ml of wine. That is just under 2 restaurant servings (150ml) of alcohol. 1 standard drink of wine is 100ml (red or white) which would be closer to 3 standard drinks. Based on that you should not drive after trying and consuming a full tasting flight. We recommend several local wine tour operators, taxi, Uber or sober drivers.
